One of my favorite parts of family sessions is helping kids and teens relax and let their personalities shine, and these boys were no exception! Sometimes all it takes is a little movement, a few laughs, or even a piggyback ride to turn shy smiles into genuine moments.

I’m so glad this mama reached out to update photos of her boys because these seasons of life change so quickly. Capturing their personalities right now, not just the poses, is what makes family photos so meaningful.

You don’t have to worry about everyone being perfectly comfortable in front of the camera, that’s part of my job, and we’ll make it fun along the way.

And with this session, we wrap up my 2025 updates!

Another one of those humbling sessions that reminds me just how quickly time passes. I still remember when the oldest was growing in her mama’s tummy! This crew is always so much fun to photograph, and every session is full of smiles, personality, and moments I’m grateful to capture.

One of the greatest gifts of family photography is being able to look back and see just how much changes over the years while preserving the memories along the way. I’m so thankful to be trusted with documenting these seasons of life. 📸

It’s some of my favorites again! ❤️ I always love getting to spend time with this crew, and I think these kiddos are probably pretty used to hearing me say, “Ooh, let’s stop and take a picture here!” at this point.

One of my favorite things about our sessions is that they’re always up for walking around, exploring, and making the experience fun instead of feeling rushed or overly posed.

And here’s your reminder when planning family photos, don’t forget to make time for more than just the full family picture! I always make sure we capture individual photos of the kids and those parent only photos too, because everyone deserves to be in the memories.

What started as a simple “Can we get a quick headshot?” turned into a full family session, and I’m so glad it did!

These boys were an absolute riot and brought so much fun and personality to the session. One of my favorite moments was hearing, “Take our picture!” while they were up in a tree, because to me, that means they felt comfortable, relaxed, and were truly enjoying the experience.

Even though it was a chilly, windy fall day, we embraced it, made it work, and captured some amazing smiles and memories along the way.

Some favorite familiar faces in this session! One of the reasons I always love photographing this crew is that they are up for anything to create something special.

For this session, they were all in, walking through tall grass, exploring around an old abandoned building, and powering through the bugs, all with smiles on their faces and poses ready to go! Their trust and willingness to have fun made these photos even more memorable.

Some of the best images come from being a little adventurous and embracing the moment, and I’m always so grateful for families who are willing to make the experience part of the memory too.

You’ve seen this beautiful crew in my updates year after year, and last year gave us one of those sessions you just don’t forget. The evening light was absolutely gorgeous, and paired with these amazing smiles, it turned into another unforgettable family session.

One of the things I love most about photographing families over time is getting to see not only how they grow, but how I’ve grown too. I truly feel like my photography has evolved alongside this family, and I’m so grateful they’ve trusted me to capture their memories through so many seasons of life.

One of the sweetest full-circle moments, when a former student is someone so incredible that you trust her with your own little ones… and years later, you get to return the favor by capturing updated family photos for her.

This session took place on the most beautiful day and was such a special reminder that family photos don’t stop when kids grow up. In fact, those moments may become even more meaningful with time.

Getting to witness these seasons of life and reconnect with people in new chapters is one of the greatest gifts of what I do. It also gave me a glimpse into my own future and reminded me that I’ll absolutely still want family photos when my kids are grown.
